Nursing Program Information

The Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program offers working registered nurses the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills they need for continual professional growth, career advancement, and higher earning potential. This is a distance learning nursing Bachelor's completion program for Registered Nurses who prefer a totally online, flexible program.

The program includes a total of 63 semester credit hours: 40 credits of nursing courses, 17 credits of General Education courses, and 6 credits of Cognate courses. Students can complete the degree in 8 semesters.

Upon successful completion of 10 Baccalaureate Degree Nursing credits, these 11 escrow credits will be applied toward the baccalaureate degree as credit by validation.

Complete the RN-BSN Program in as little as 18 months. By taking one class at a time, (2-3 classes per semester) in each of 8 semesters you can manage the RN-BSN coursework in your busy, current schedule. As a registered nurse, you can transfer in up to 28 credits of associate's degree nursing and general education credits so you study only advanced concepts and competencies to build on your prior learning and experience.

Ease into distance learning and going back to school with our new student orientation. Based on input from FHCHS online students, our New Student Orientation combines several important learning objectives that will support your successful completion of the program and ease you into distance education.

Individually designed clinical projects. Designed for licensed registered nurses, this bachelor's degree completion program focuses on the instruction and support necessary to advance your career and increase employment opportunities. Clinical projects are integrated into several courses within the BS program. These projects are designed to enhance the didactic course information and are to be completed within the community where the student lives. Students may be required to find a preceptor who will assist or monitor them when completing some projects. No travel to campus is required.
