I have read the Web site. What if I have more questions?
An Enrollment Advisor is available to answer all your questions. To have your
Enrollment Advisor contact you, click on Request Info (on the left of this
page) and complete the Contact Info form, or call 866-642-6350.
What should I look for in a distance-learning program?
We recommend you search for a program that has extensive experience delivering
distance learning, low student attrition, dedicated full-time faculty, high
student satisfaction, and minimal travel. Florida Hospital College of Health
Sciences has all of these important attributes and its distance learning expertise
is demonstrated through the great success of the online BSN program as well as the online Bachelor Degree in
Radiologic Sciences (BRS).
I have a busy work and family life and cannot attend classes each
week. Is this program for me?
Yes. You can complete your studies at your convenience in the comfort of your
own home or workplace. There are no site visits or campus meetings to attend.
You have access to your course 24 hours a day. The only scheduled time commitment
is a weekly 1 hour online chat conveniently scheduled around the needs of
your small learning community. The rest of your coursework can be completed
around your busy schedule.
I am not a computer whiz; can I do this?
Yes. We realize that most students are computer novices, therefore, Florida
Hospital College provides 24/7 technical support and a full-time program manager
will be your personal guide throughout the program. As a new student, you
will have an orientation to online courses prior to starting classes.
Do I earn the same degree that on-campus students earn?
Yes. Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences awards the same accredited
Baccalaureate degrees regardless of the delivery method. The traditional campus-based
program and the distance-learning program for working professionals award the same degree.
What are the computer requirements for participation in the nursing degree?
To participate in the online Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program you will
need a computer system with current specifications that your Enrollment Advisor can relay to you.
Please call 866-642-6350.
How long will it take to earn my BSN?
The nursing curriculum is 8 semesters or less than 2-1/2 years. Applicants may
have credits they can transfer to meet general education requirements. Diploma
RN's may need to take additional general education courses.
I took college courses 15 years ago, for example, English Composition
I and Psychology. Do I have to repeat these courses?
No. At Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences, your credits taken at
a regionally accredited college or university can be accepted without time
limits.
I took Health Assessment in another BSN program. Do I have to repeat it?
No. Equivalent credits for courses earned at a NLNAC or CCNE regionally accredited
program will transfer and do not have to be repeated, regardless of how long
ago they were earned. An evaluation of your transcript or course syllabus
will determine if the content is comparable.
Is this a correspondence program?
No. While most correspondence courses are self-paced or independent study,
Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences courses are designed by the instructor
and structured with a timeline. Students study and learn through individual
study, small learning groups, online chats/discussions; and they have the
support and leadership of a professional facilitator. The level of interaction
with faculty and peers is often greater than most traditional, on-campus programs.
How many hours per week will I need to study?
Of course, this is individually based. On an average, 12-15 hours per week
will ensure completion of 6-8 credits per semester on time.
What if I can't keep up?
One of the benefits of studying in a small learning community is the special
support you will receive from your peers, facilitators, and instructors. Students
typically find this greatly helps them to stay on track. Your instructor and
facilitator are working professionals who recognize your challenges and want
to help you succeed.
How much does the program cost?
The courses are $255* per Trimester credit hour and $135 matriculation fee per
Trimester*. Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences offers a quality education
at a price well below the cost of most national distance learning public or
private institutions. Our goal is to ensure that all students with the drive
and determination to complete our professional program have the opportunity
to do so.
* Tuition rates are based on the 2005-2006 Tuition Schedule. Amounts
of tuition and fees are determined annually and are subject to change.
Is this program accredited?

of Health Sciences is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges

"I have recommended this program to many! Some of the nurses I work with wish they were X-ray techs because then they could go to school with me. The faculty and staff are doing a great job. Thank you for being there for me."
